At Sammy Anne’s we’re always looking for ways to improve our clients’ experience so have
taken steps towards increased accessibility. Please see further updates below and if you have
any questions please feel free to text us on 07712249669.
Accessibility is something that we are continuously working to improve and if there’s anything
we’ve missed on this page, or you have a suggestion, please email
sammy@sammyannes.co.uk.
At Sammy Anne’s we believe in inclusivity, and if you have a request we will always look for
ways to accommodate you. Contact our friendly team for a chat before you come in so we can
make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during your visit. To check any adjustments we
can make or to arrange a phone call please text 07712249669.
When completing the consultation form prior to your visit, please share as much detail as
possible – the forms are sent out via email, but if you do not have access to email, we can fill
the form out when you come in for your appointment. We also have braille consultation forms
available that can be posted to you before your appointment and a hearing loop system in the
shop, if you require one for your visit.
Our team is used to working with many different access requirements. Should you need
assistance getting on or off the bed, getting dressed or undressed, or removing any jewellery or
watches, we are there to help. We will check-in with you throughout your visit to make sure you
are comfortable and happy the whole time. If you would rather bring a friend, carer or chaperone
to assist you throughout your visit, just let us know.
Equality, diversity & Inclusion at Sammy Anne’s
At Sammy Anne’s we have a zero tolerance policy towards racism or discrimination of any kind. Sammy Anne’s is a space where everyone is welcome so if you have any requirements relation to religious or cultural practices please feel free to contact us ahead of your appointment to discuss.
Gender-Neutral and Inclusive Care at Sammy Anne’s
At Sammy Anne’s, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. All of our treatments are gender-neutral, and we strive to create a welcoming space for everyone. During your visit, you’ll notice our consultation forms include a section for pronouns, allowing us to respectfully use your preferred pronouns throughout your experience with us.
Our team has completed training in trans inclusivity and gender awareness to ensure that every client feels safe, respected, and comfortable. We’re committed to providing a supportive environment where all identities are honoured and celebrated.
Masks
If you would prefer your therapist to wear a mask during your treatment, please just let us know we are happy too.
Service dogs
We welcome service dogs in the shop. Please let us know in advance so we can provide water
and a blanket. The treatment rooms do get warm, so we cannot offer any heat treatments (hot
stones/hot compress) if you have a service dog in the room.
Carer/chaperone/friend
If you would like to bring someone with you to your appointment for any form of support, please
feel free. They can be either in the treatment room or in our waiting area while you receive your
treatment. Please let us know in advance so we can make sure we have a comfortable space
for them to sit. (They are welcome to use our free wifi or read our books whilst they wait!)
Parking
There is parking directly outside the shop, but it can get busy depending on the time of day.
On the other side of the road there is a single yellow line, so if you are a blue badge holder you
can park there for up to three hours. Once parked, the closest drop-down curb is by NGB
accountants on the corner, 70 yds from Sammy Anne’s. If you require assistance from the car,
please let us know.
Steps
The entrance to the shop and the first two treatment rooms are accessible and step free. The
toilet is located down 3 steps – we do have a handrail on one side and handle on the other.
Toilet
We have a small toilet downstairs. There is a folding handrail on one side and a grab rail on the
other.
Consultation
We send our consultation forms via email before your appointment so we can get to know your
requirements before your visit. We will contact you if anything needs to be discussed via
Whatsapp, text or phone call. We also have consultation forms available in braille that we can
post out prior to appointment.
At the beginning of the treatment the therapist will take you through the consultation, asking you
any relevant questions so that we can tailor the treatment to you before we start and to make
sure you are 100% happy. If you would rather not communicate verbally at the start of your
treatment, we can consult before you come in via text.
Simply message saying ‘silent treatment’ to 07712249669 and we can ask anything we need to before you come in.
During the treatment we will check-in with you about pressure once or twice, but otherwise your
therapist will remain quiet so that you can fully switch off and relax. If you prefer to chat, our
therapists can talk throughout the treatment – we’ll take your lead.
Massage tables
Our beds are static and handmade, as we wanted wide/strong beds. They can hold up to 25
stone (158kg). We have a variety of support pillows to make sure you are comfortable
throughout your treatment. Our beds can also be raised into a sitting position.
For getting on and off the beds, we have 2 different kinds of steps: a small step, or small step
ladders. We can also assist you if desired.
Alternatively, we can massage you in a chair if you are more comfortable with this.
Floors
We have hardwearing, anti-slip flooring in the shop to ensure the highest standards and most
accessibility. We also have mats at the front entrance for wiping feet.
Lighting
The lighting in communal areas throughout the shop is bright. In the treatment rooms however,
we have dimmer lights that can be dimmed to preference, just let us know what level they need
to be when you visit.
Sounds/noise
We have relaxing music playing throughout the shop and it is a mainly quiet atmosphere. Each
treatment room has an individual sound system, so you can choose what music you would like
to listen to, what sound level it is at or it can be silent if you prefer. We also have a hearing loop
system in the shop if you wear hearing aids and would like us to use this.
Smells
The shop does have an aromatherapy scent due to the oils we use, however it is not too
overpowering. We do have two treatment rooms with windows and can air the rooms out before
your visit if required. Feel free to drop us a message and pop in for a visit or sniff!
Seating
We have one seat in each treatment room, but we can fit two in if needed. We also have seating
at the front entrance (2 seats) and outside of the toilet (3 seats).
